RUBBLE VIDEO SERIES

The Rubble video series examines the way that we traditionally view debris and discarded material in our immediate environment. Created from the physical Rubble sculptural series, each Rubble video work was created to highlight the constantly changing surface of these natural forms. The video series explores how natural light can shift our feeling and experience of commonplace organic forms. I used found pieces of rock, shards of concrete, broken bricks, and whatever other rock forms I could find in my immediate environment to source the materials for the physical sculptures. The Rubble series explores how removing identity and societal bias of a subject and focusing on the fluidity of surface and form of these organic objects can change how we view the world around us. Each video highlights the constancy of change within a ever-shifting palette of light and color, representative of the state of impermanence that I believe unifies the human experience.
