rUBBLE

The Rubble series examines the way that we traditionally view debris and discarded material in our immediate environment. Created during quarantine while isolated and removed from my studio, the Rubble series evolved from a desire to capture the impermanence of passing strands of light on everyday natural forms. Focusing on these constantly changing forms was my way of quieting the constant internal chaos from the state of the outside world. I used found pieces of rock, shards of concrete, broken bricks, and whatever other rock forms I could find in my immediate environment to source the materials for this series. The Rubble series explores how removing identity and societal bias of a subject and focusing on the constantly changing surface and form of these organic objects can change how we view the world around us. Each sculptural piece is entirely unique, using a reverse casting method I developed to extract the organic form of the rubble.
